Doris H. Johnson

 

Mr. Doris H. Johnson, age 71, of Hillsboro, MO.  Passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at his residence. 

Born November 23, 1931 in Greenville, KY. Doris was a U. S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. 

He was a retired auto assembly line worker for Chrysler, was a salesman and boat mechanic for Ray's Boat House, 

a bus driver for Hillsboro R-3 School and a driver for Galemore Motors North after retirement. 

Doris was a member of the U.A.W. and the 1st Baptist Church of Hillsboro.  

Doris and his wife Joan were married on October 19th, 1955 in Springfield Tenn.

He is survived by his Wife, Joan W. Johnson (nee Winn) of Hillsboro, Mo.

Daughter, Mona (Jeff Hunt) Jarnagin of Festus, Mo.,

Grandson, Kyle W. Jarnagin, Festus, Mo.,

Grandson, Kaleb P. Jarnagin, Festus, Mo.

Brother, Bob Johnson of Owensboro, Ky.,  

Sister, Patsy Cornette of Greenville, Ky.

He was preceded in Death by:

Visitation will be at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home 103 Fourth St., Hillsboro, Mo.,

on Thursday, June 26, 2003 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the 1st Baptist Church of Hillsboro. Rev. Wayne Norris officiating. 

(With visitation at the church from 9:00 AM until the 10:00 AM service on Friday)

Interment will be at the Hillsboro Cemetery

Memorials may be made to 1st Baptist Church of Hillsboro Building Fund.

JOHNSTON ALSO WAS QUITE A BASEBALL PLAYER.  HE HAD ADVANCED TO THE AA, HOPKINSVILLE, KY OF THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS BASEBALL SYSTEM BEFORE ENTERING THE SERVICE.  MR. JOHNSTON WAS ALSO AN AVID BOWLER.
